Country Music Singer Steve Holy 8/25/12

It is fair season in New England, which often brings in some pretty decent acts for concerts. This specific show was about 20 minutes from where I live, and I had planned to go to the fair anyway, so it was a no brainer to give it a go.

Steve Holy is best known for his song/album,"Love Don't Run". I had planned on getting him after the show, and there actually ended up being a signing scheduled at the merch. table, so I didn't even have to worry about going to the bus. This was a really easy event. I had more photos in the car, but didn't bring them in because I didn't know what to expect, could have went back out, but I was busy, so no big deal.

The show itself was very good, he sounded exactly the same as he does on his albums, which is always a good thing.

I got him on a cd cover:

As well as a photo:

He asked if he could make it out to anyone, and he was really nice so I didn't bother asking him to not personalize it.

New Britain Vs. Portland 8/21/12

For my last game before college starts back up I decided to hit Portland in New Britain yesterday. I was very happy with my results, although a 15 inning game made for an extremely long day.

When the first bus came in, I was able to get Jackie Bradley, who was saying only 1 per, so he could get off his foot. I was able to dip him though.

He was willing to do his full signature if you asked him.

In order to keep things simple, I'll just group certain players together. After the game I was able to get Jackie again; this time he signed 3 cards, and I dipped him on a ball:

It was an OLB because that's all I had left at that point.

Xander Bogaerts was of course the other big target of the day. I missed him off of the bus because he was rushing, and hesitated for a second. He only signed about 3 off of the bus. I got him coming back from the batting cages though, where he signed for me and 3 other guys.

I waited for him down the line before the game, and got him on a ball, and was able to dip him on another photo:

He signed for a few people coming out after the game, and I was one of them:

I needed some other guys on cards too, and I didn't go home disappointed.

Kolbrin Vitek didn't do it going in, but I got him going out:

Pawtucket Vs. Buffalo(Zack Wheeler) 8/19/12

My main goal yesterday with Buffalo coming to town was of course to land a graph of top pitching prospect, Zack Wheeler.

When the bus came in, he wouldn't even look over. Needless to say I was disappointed.

Off the bus I was able to get Jenrry Mejia:

I also got Fernando Cabrera, Adam Loewen, and Wally Backman when he got out of his car:

Not a ton of Pawtucket guys signed yesterday, just after I got there, I was able to get Chris Carpenter and Ryan Kalish, who was reading the Hunger Games. Hopefully he can read it faster than LeBron.

Rich Hill is rehabbing, and he was nice as always:

I didn't have anything for him, but I got a picture with Chris Hernandez:

After that I went inside, and was able to get C.J. Nitkowski:

It was Sunday, so the pitchers were throwing, so I patiently waited for Wheeler to come in. I was very happy when he came over and signed for me, although he personalized. Nonetheless I was happy to get him:

CT Tigers Vs. Hudson Valley 8/17/12

Went down to Norwich again yesterday afternoon to get the 1st rounders on Hudson Valley. Unfortunately I didn't go back to 2010, so I missed O'Conner, but not a big deal. I was also in a rush, so I couldn't get my Jared Sandberg cards together in time.

Former Red Sox pitcher, Kyle Snyder is now a pitching coach, and he was very nice, unlike during his playing days.

Photobucket

Richie Schafer, this year's first round pick of the Rays was very nice, he seems to actually enjoy signing.

Taylor Guerrieri, the 2011 first round pick, was awesome as well:

Olympic Medalist Elizabeth Beisel 8/15/12

Olympic swimming medalist, and Rhode Island native, Elizabeth Beisel was scheduled to be signing at the PawSox game, so I got there a little after the gates opened and got in line. They were saying it would be around the 4th inning, which was actually accurate. They were stressing the "1 auto rule", but the staff member was dumb and wasn't even near the table, also the usual guy who breathes down everyones' necks, was pretty passive about this signing.

Elizabeth was very nice, and didn't mind signing whatever you brought.

It was actually scheduled to be a double header, and I ended up leaving during a rain delay in the second game.

This is definitely the first time I have graphed something at a ball game without actually getting any baseball graphs.

Pawtucket Vs. Empire State Yankees 8/14/12

Spent the entire day yesterday in Pawtucket, I did get a few nice autographs, but I didn't get my main targets, Manny Delcarmen, John Maine, or Kosuke Fukudome.

The first autographs for the day were from Butch Wynegar. This was so strange because he wanted no part of it, but this guy who was there told him that he had a Gary Gaetti signed ball that he wanted him on, and then a switch flipped. He was VERY nice, and talked to us for a good 10 minutes. I also got a very nice picture with him.

After that happened. The day went reallllly slow. The Sox were back from a road trip, so they came in late, and the second Yankees bus didn't come for another hour.

I did get some more Mark Prior magazines signed, I had help from someone who was there.

None of the guys I needed signed before the game, not even the lesser guys. Throughout the day I put together a team sheet, of guys I didn't have cards of.
