Pawtucket Vs. Syracuse 7/19/12

Yesterday was a day game in Pawtucket, so I went over to do pre game, inside, as well as post game.

Pre-Game:

Pawtucket was fantastic during pre game.

I got Ryan Kalish first I think, or at least close to it. He is down to 1 per now, but is still very nice.
I was able  to get Brandon Duckworth on a really old card:

I got J.C. Linares on my team setters from last year. I had kept forgetting to put them in my book. He had 2 home runs yesterday.
Believe it or not, I was able to get Lars Anderson, he ran with a black sharpie though(for 3 people), he wasn't mean for once though so that was good:
I got my usual 1 Che-Hsuan Lin:

I finished off my Will Inmans:
I had found some old Rich Saveur cards so I got him to sign those:
I got 3 more Alex Wilsons:

Daniel Bard was very nice yesterday, he signed a card for me:

The highlight of pre game was getting Mark Prior on a magazine. This guy is such a class act. Inside later on, there were about 100 screaming kids, probably 99% didn't know who he was, and he stopped for every single one. he even did post game, when he was saying bye to his family before the road trip. After they left he came over and signed for whoever wanted one. I'll post both right now.

On Syracuse, I was only able to get John Lannan outside pre game, as he came in a car. I guess I simply missed Mark Teahen:

I got a number of PawSox guys on a team sheet:

Chris Carpenter,Doug Mathis,Alex Hassan,John Hee,Will Latimer, and a rare Tony Pena Jr.

I then went inside to try for Duke and Teahen, I was successful with Duke.

Pawtucket Vs. Syracuse 7/17/12

Once again, Syracuse is in town, and I was headed to the game, so I dug out a few cards for them.

Inside, I hung a team sheet as well as the cards I had.

Mark Teahen signed without me even asking, he is a really nice guy.

I also was able to get Zach Duke. I guess I missed him in the all star set, and didn't put the card on my board, but I can get it when I go next time.

I also got Corey Brown as he was coming in from BP.

3 Guys signed the sheet. Carlos Maldonado, Chris Marrero, and Zach Duke.
Because the team sheets are of course white, I cropped the photos so there isn't a block of white space in between photos.

That was it from before the game, but during the game, I won "Tweet your seat", so the camera guy came up and all of that. For those who don't know, Dustin Pari, previously of Ghost Hunters, has been the cameraman here for a few years now, so I just got him to sign my score card.

On the way outside, I stopped to get Zach Stewart on a BP ball. He was charting:

Post game was good, I wish I had more cards.
Top left:
Middle Top: James Skelton
Upper Middle:Brett Carroll
Lower Middle:Carlos Maldonado
Bottom Left to Right:Pat Lehman, Chris Marrero, Jarrett Hoffpauir,Manny Mayorson(Worst auto I've ever gotten.)

I had a card for pitching coach, Greg Booker, and was able to get him to stop:

I threw Tony Thomas and Doug Mathis on a sheet:

Arnie Beyeler is also in the All Star set, so I had a reason to get him:
My final autograph of the night was Chris Carpenter. I had packed up my stuff and was ready to leave when he came out. I got him on another BP ball:

Pawtucket Vs. Buffalo 7/15/12(Jason Bay and Matt Harvey)

Today I headed over to Pawtucket with my main goals being to meet Connecticut native, Matt Harvey, and possibly even Jason Bay. I had missed out on getting Harvey during Buffalo's early trip to Pawtucket this year, so I really wanted to be able to meet Matt before he gets called up soon.

He got dropped off by his father, and was very nice.

As I said earlier, my other main target for the day was rehabbing Met, and former Red Sox, Jason Bay. Surprisingly he came right off the bus, put his luggage down, and came right over.
I had my dad get one as well, although he was doing 2 per anyway, for some reason I grabbed a black marker when I left the house(it was early).

Jason was nice as could be, and after finishing my 2 main targets, I worked on random guys from either team.

Brad Emaus, and 1986 World Series Champion, Wally Backman.

From Top to Bottom:
Lucas May
(Will Fill in Later)
Josh Satin
Fernando Cabrera
Fred Lewis
From Top to Bottom:
Zack Lutz
Rob Johnson
Lucas May
Oswaldo Navarro
Justin Hampson
Garrett Olson

I also did a team sheet for Pawtucket. I was able to get Zack Stewart,Doug Mathis,Chris Carpenter, and Ryan Dent. Carpenter was a first timer for me.
I was also able to get a picture with Stewart.

Still chipping away at Che Hsuan Lin:
Somehow I'm still finding Brandon Duckworth cards:

When I went inside, the pitchers were warming up, and I still had one badly spotted ball from my bad dozen, on which the sweet spot was good, so I got Daniel Bard on it:
That pretty much wraps it up from a great day!

Rusty Wallace in my Back Yard(Almost)

So with NASCAR week in New England leading up to the big race on Sunday, appearances have been a big plus. I live right down the road from Thompson Speedway, where Rusty Wallace had been scheduled to make an appearance for months. I have literally grown up at this place, so it was very cool to have someone come in who is such an ambassador to the sport.

I had to work until 7:30 tonight, but my dad was headed to the track as usual so I gave him my photos I had bought a few weeks ago. The autograph signing was a lottery system, in which cards were handed out at the entrance, and if you had the correct color, you got an autograph. I told my dad to just get him talking, because it was announced as 1 per.. I told him to talk about his son, Steven, and he did not disappoint.

Rusty signed all 3 things no problem.

I got to the track right after the signing and enjoyed the rest of the show.

Shout out to my parents and the speedway for making this happen, I was worried that my photos would go to waste but it turned out well!

Joey Logano 7/11/12

I was back in action Wednesday to do my first NASCAR graphing in years. A lot of people don't know, but I am a huge NASCAR fan. Joey was making an appearance at a car dealership in the state, so I went over, and was the first person there. He was very nice as I expected, although I didn't really expect anything less because he lives right here.

He signed 2 8x10s no problem, and took a photo with me. There was nobody helping with photos when I went up, and I was alone so I had to take it myself. He was kind of looking around to get people to help which was kind of cool. Given everything, it came out pretty well.

Pawtucket Vs. Syracuse 7/8/12

Yesterday I headed over to McCoy to get some pre game graphing in. I didn't have a good morning though, that's for sure. It took me 8 days to get this month started, and it wasn't a great start.

I woke up over an hour late because my alarm on my phone was too quiet, I was laying on top of it.

Then, on my way through Glocester, I was stopped for at least 35 minutes for some bike ride that was going on. Needless to say at this point I wasn't happy.

Jacoby Ellsbury and Clay Buchholz were both playing yesterday so  there were a ton of people around. First, Ellsbury drove up with Daniel Bard and of course, they went and parked in the cage. A few of us ran over, but they parked on top of the door and there was no chance. Then we got yelled at by Rhode Island's favorite security guard and that was the end of it. I don't see why this stadium has to make such a huge issue out of every little thing .Nobody tried for Clay as he also parked in the cage.

It was a disappointing morning, Prior denied going in, he yelled,"ALL STAR BREAK!" He is a pretty funny guy.

I was able to get Che-Hsuan Lin:

Jason Repko once again:

Zack Stewart, very nice kid so far:

Newcomer, Andy LaRoche:

I was able to get the few Syracuse guys I cared to get, they were a friendly team, I just didn't have cards for them.

I was able to get John Lannan,Mark Teahen, and Yunesky Maya.
Maya signed up a storm, which was a surprise because he was the starting pitcher.

I was also able to get a picture with mark Teahen.

Inside I was able to land Mark Prior when I was hanging out near the dugout, I was the only one who asked him.

Total Autographs for 2012:499, weird how I land on a _99 after an event, I have something planned Wednesday, which will make a cool #500.

June Recap

Wow, what a month. After a very slow start, this month turned into one of my most fun ones ever. I did a lot of Pawtucket in June, including:

Pawtucket Vs. Indianapolis
Pawtucket Vs. Gwinnett I
Pawtucket Vs. Gwinnett II

My favorite baseball item of the month was my Mark Prior Sports Illustrated that I got on the 28th.

I also did the Travelers Celebrity Pro Am for the first time, and met many of the top names on the PGA Tour, as well as former football great Doug Flutie, and Basketball Hall of Famer, Geno Auriemma

Travelers Celebrity Pro Am

I also tested the Jose Canseco waters for the first time, and came out successful after him giving me a hard time.

The Jose Canseco Project

I even got to meet current Patriots great, and CT Native, Aaron Hernandez:

I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of Sports Illustrateds I was able to get signed in June alone:

I hope July turns out successful, June was a fantastic month of graphing.
