Pawtucket Vs. Lehigh Valley 6/16/2011

As usual I was at the gates when they opened up and this paid to my benefit(somewhat). I ended up getting 7 baseballs in batting practice; 6 of them being very good. I probably should have went above the dugout to try for Ryne Sandberg's autograph, but I was all alone out there, and it was simply TOO easy. For at least 20 minutes I got every single baseball that went out there. One was even a lightly used Major League Ball.

Anyways, when I got to my seat after BP, I saw Ryan Feierbend doing some exercises by the dugout. When he was done, he signed a card for me:

The game ended up going 10 innings, making it my 4th extra innings game in a row. 2 was my record.

After the game evrybody was waiting for Ryne. Apparently he ended up sneaking out, and so nobody got him. Major disappointment. But life goes on and I didn't do bad with Pawtucket.

Pawtucket Vs. Charlotte 6/14/2011

Last night was another long game, my third extra innings game in a row. Extra innings are fun, but usually cut down on my autograph time after the game. I did have some good successes though.

Last night was also legends night at McCoy. This year's "legends" were Bill Lee and Jose Santiago; both former Red Sox.

My Goals/Plans for the Rest of the Baseball Season

As the season is quickly approaching it's halfway point, I thought it would be a good idea to make a list of things to accomplish with the rest of the season.

1)Get Ryne Sandberg's autograph on a bat(I will attempt this week)
2)Go to at least one new stadium that I haven't been to(Most likely will be the New Britain Rock Cats, I'm almost 1.5 hours away)
3)Attend some Connecticut Tigers games(Last season was the first time that I didn't go to Dodd Stadium in about 13 years)
4)Go to as many Pawtucket rehab games as possible
5)Go to Futures at Fenway(I have never been to this event and I think it would be awesome)

Thursday June 17th Pawtucket vs. Lehigh Valley(Phillies)

My First Post 6/7/2011

Hello everybody and welcome to my brand new blog. On this blog, I will be talking about different autographs I collect, as well as recent sports news. I live in Connecticut so many of my postings will revolve around New England, but some will expand as well.

Last night when I got home from work I had a very nice surprise waiting for me. A gentleman that my dad works with had given him an autographed basketball for me. The ball was signed by Jim Calhoun along with many of UCONN's players from the mid 90's including Donyell Marshall and Chris Smith. I have always been a huge baseball collector, so a start to my basketball memorabilia collection was very nice.

Later on I had the pleasure to watch the Boston Bruins romp Vancouver in the finals. The final was 8-1 in a Boston scoring frenzy. I hope Horton will be okay after suffering a serious concussion at the hands of Aaron Rome. Rome was very deservingly suspended for the remainder of the cup.

Finally, I would like to give shout outs to UCONN baseball star Matt Barnes who was drafted by the Red Sox last night. He is a Connecticut native so this was very cool for me; and Massachusets High School star Tyler Beede who was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays, who lives very close to me.
